This picturesque town has its main beach of nearly 300m length at the western end plus a smaller one to the east of the harbour entrance. Both are just a few minutes walk from the centre with its tavernas and cafes which front the promenade overlooking the sea. The coarse sand / pebble beaches have crystal clear water and one usually sees plenty of inquisitive fish swimming around you as you bathe. With a choice of small family run hotels in the town it is a suitable destination for families to enjoy the gently sloping beaches in town. There are other beaches within easy driving distance at Kohili and Rovies off the road to Edipsos.
