Levkanti-Vasiliko

Two towns which are now basically one conurbation (together with a number of other villages) of about 20,000 residents to the south-east of Halkida (7 km) in central Evia.

Located in a very fertile area with many vineyards, Levkanti is now an increasingly popular Greek seaside resort with its long beach and seafood taverns.

It is also an area known for its archaeological sights including temples and cemeteries from the Geometric Age. The nearby village of Fila boasts a 12th C monastery, a castle and frank towers close-by. Vassiliko is well served by shops and is popular for its large Sunday market.

Facilities:
Full range of tavernas are available in the city and close by. Common facilities can be found in the city. The church and the old Venitian tower are worth seeing.

How to get there:
Access is either by road via Halkida or via the regular Oropos to Eretria ferry, 12 km to the east
