Tavernas on Evia Island

Eretria

The tourist town of Eretria provides a wide range of Tavernas along the sea front with Greek and International dishes.
Most of these Tavernas serve very tasty fresh sea food. It is also possible to get meat from the region. Reasonable prices.
A very nice meal for 4 persons with 3 courses and wine can cost less than 60 euro.

Artaki (Nea Artaki)

There are lots of tavernas spread around the Harbour area. Some specialised in sea food, others serve pizzas or italian dishes.

Agios Dimitrios

An excellent taverna close to the village of Zarakes and Styra. Just opposite the sea front.
The food comes from local farmers and fisherman. Food is excellent and very cheap.

Around 40 euros for a full meal with wine for 4 persons.

Steni-Dirfhis (Dirfis)

This tourist mountain town has plenty of nice Tavernas- you can order your steaks by the kilo and watch been grilled over the barbecue outside the taverna. There are also many coffee shops serving a full range of Greek desserts and sweets.
Prices are not expensive, around 60 euros for a good meal for 4 persons including wine.

Limni

The town is famous for its sea food restaurants with fisherman bringing in their catch daily.

Seta

Seta is a hill-top village famous for the ancient greek plays presented in its ancient theatre in August each year. About fourty minutes drive from Eretria.
There are two good tavernas serving a selection of traditional greek dishes.

Halkida

Halkida, the capital town of Evia, has a wide range of places to eat. These range from simple tavernas which stretch along each side of the waterfront leading up to the old bridge. They serve excelent seafood dishes, fresh from the large fishing fleet based in the town.
You can also dine at a number of smart restaurants serving food for that special occasion!
In the evening enjoy the night life at numerous bars many of which have live music at the week-ends.
